Palak thove
Ingredients:
Palak: 1/2 bunch (finely chopped)
Toor dal: 1 cup
Onion: 1/2 (finely chopped)
Tomato: 1 (finely chopped)
Garlic: 4-5 cloves
Ginger: 1 inch piece
Turmeric Powder: pinch
Sambar Powder: 1/2 tbspn
Jeera: 1/2 tspn
Water: 6-7 cups
Lemon juice: 1 tbspn
Salt to taste
Tempering:
Oil: 2-3 tbspn
Mustard seeds: 1/2 tspn
Asafoetida(hing): pinch
Curry leaves: 1 sprig
Red chilli: 2-3
Method:
1. Wash Toor dal 2-3 times. Add Dal, finely chopped Palak, 6-7 cups water, Garlic, Ginger, Turmeric, Onion, Tomato, Jeera, Green chilli in a pressure cooker. Cook for 3-4 whistles.
2. Once the pressuer goes off, transfer to a vessel and add salt,sambar powder. Boil for few mins.
3.Heat oil in a pan and add mustard seeds, asafoetida, curry leaves, Red chilli.
4. Transfer this to dal mixture. stir well.
5. Add lemon juice .
6. Serve with rice or chapathi.
